&lt;div&gt;&lt;font face="Comic Sans MS" color="#ff6600" size=2&gt;基本上反映了美国化学界的分布情况, 我想在不久, Harvard这化学第一豪门中Whitesides, Schreiber, Charles Lieber, 包括20年后的David Liu, 都必定将是热门人选&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;font face="Comic Sans MS" color="#ff6600" size=2&gt;&lt;/font&gt; &lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;font face="Comic Sans MS" color="#ff6600" size=2&gt;从国内的学术水平上看, 有机化学和纳米科学目前发展比较迅速. 不过方法比较专一局限性比较强, 那些纳米科学家和华裔的Berkeley的Peidong Yang, Stanford的Hongjie Dai, 或者Gatech的Zhonglin Wang差距还是太大. 在美国基本没有因为单纯在纳米科学上的贡献拿到National Academy of Science的院士的, Whitesides早在1978年就成为了院士, 当时不是因为纳米, 而且现在他的工作和生物联系的很紧密, 靠Self-Assembly拿个Nobel也是很正常的&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;div&gt;&lt;font face="Comic Sans MS" color="#ff6600" size=2&gt;有机化学上我们也有很长的发展道路, 我们需要更原创性的思想~~时代的进步,Chemical Review比以前多了不少, 不过国内旗舰派的领军人物不多~~Synthetic methods也好, total synthesis也好, 研究Natural products的biological functionalites也好, 主要还是看对人类的影响~~既然VB12都没有得奖, KC Nicolaou的Taxol和Vancomycin因为无法工业化, 无法应用于Clinic, 也不如Woodward这种大师给人艺术的视觉效果, 注定和Nobel Laureate没有什么缘分~~&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;div&gt;&lt;font style="background-color:#000000" face="Comic Sans MS" color="#ffcc00" size=2&gt;再说说我自己~~在申请的Research Proposal里面我也list了我计划的five years PhD career:&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;font style="background-color:#000000" face="Comic Sans MS" color="#ffcc00" size=2&gt;In the synthetic method,  我喜欢organocatalysis, 比如Scripps的BarbasIII组里面的用enzymelike small molecules 催化有机反应, 比如用手性amino acid除了催化aldol,还有一些基于imine和enamine的反应, 比如Michael, Mannich这些很经典的东西. 感觉organocatalysis和简单的metal Lewis acid, 比复杂的金属配合物易得, green还有low loading of toxicity. 当然Max-Planck的Benjamin List, Caltech的Macmillan也发展了一些小分子活化~~&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;font style="background-color:#000000" face="Comic Sans MS" color="#ffcc00" size=2&gt;&lt;/font&gt; &lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;font style="background-color:#000000" face="Comic Sans MS" color="#ffcc00" size=2&gt;Total synthesis, 我觉得这个是个过程的积累, 现在已经不是Target Orienting的时代了, Schreiber全合成FK506, Rapamycin已经说明了这个问题, 我想更多是证明我们研究的方法学可行性的一种手段. 所以说即便是organometallic里面, 研究chiral ligands也好, allene也好, cross-coupling也好, 都能用到total synthesis里面&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

David Liu的Harvard课件很难, Eschenmoser的文章基本也是Antibody catalysis, 还是需要自己系统的学习. 学校里面攒个破论文Nanoscience--&amp;gt;Coordination Chemistry, 太宽泛了~~Zero Inspiration@@感觉MIT的Eric Lander和Harvard的Schreiber的HHMI Lectures实在是精彩~~包括实验室, 还有就是科学家每天做的第一件事情--闪现最创造性的想法~~并且实现它~~恩&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
